Too Long

It's been way too long since I posted anything, and I swore that I would do better at blogging this year. Well, we have had a crazy couple of months since our sweet Cami was born. Two kids has totally thrown everything off. I never knew it would be this hard, but we are surviving.
Around the first of Feb, Crue got sick with what I thought was croup and a cold. It turned into an ear infection and then it was really deep in his chest and not going away. I took him back to the doctors (after being there 3 times that week already) and they tested him for RSV. SCARY! The last thing I needed at my house with a 5 week old was RSV. Well, they LOST his lab work and I never did get the results. Dumb lab. That same day Cami started coughing and I thought my life was over. We took her to the doctor that night and they told me to watch her carefully for fevers and congestion. Sun she was getting worse. Monday she had a fever of 101.5 so we took her in and she got tested for RSV. It came back POSITIVE! Even though I knew in my heart that is what it was, I was not prepared to hear that. Her oxygen was still doing really well at this point so they sent us home and told me to watch her really close. I didn't sleep at all. On Tues she was about the same, but she started throwing up my milk every time she would eat. She had so much congestion and when she coughed she would vomit. It was terrible. Wed. morning she was not doing well and couldn't keep food down very well, so I took her in to the doc AGAIN, and her oxygen was around 88 (They like it to be above 90) and since she wasn't eating well, they were worried about her getting dehydrated. The doctor came in the room and looked at me and told me she needed to be admitted to the hospital right away. I freaked out... let the flood of tears begin! He asked me if I needed to be taken in an ambulance with Cami to Davis hospital because I was so upset. I started laughing because his office is in Kaysville. Five min from the hospital! I got it together and we went straight to the hospital. After 30 min of the nurses trying to get the IV in my tiny little 6 week old, they finally got it in. It was torture, but I knew in my heart she was where she needed to be since she was so sick and so tiny. Brian got there shortly after I did, and my mom as well. It was hard (having 2 kids) worrying about Crue and what to do with him because someone had to stay with Cami all the time. Brian and I have the best families who all were willing to help and took the burden from me and took care of Crue the rest of the week and weekend! Cami got worse before she got better... and that was what the doctor told me would happen. They monitored her heart rate and oxygen, as well as suctioning her nose every 3 hours before she would eat. This helped a ton so she wouldn't throw up as much. By Fri she was doing really well, and holding most of her milk down only throwing up a few times a day. Everyday got better, and by Sat night she was ready to go home. It still took a week or so after we got home for her to get back 100%... but we are all finally happy and healthy! This winter could end anytime! I am so done with it. Hopefully we can all stay well the rest of the winter and summer will get here soon! Here are some pictures of the hospital and after we got home. We got home the night before valentines, so that was nice. It was SO nice to sleep in my own bed and be home with my Crue. Thanks again to everyone who helped us and for all the prayers and phone calls. We couldn't have done it without you!

She's HERE!

Camryn Holje was born on Wed. Dec. 30th at 3:58pm. She weighed 6lbs 1oz, 19.5 inches long. Perfect and healthy! Labor was good and fast --- after they finally got the epidural working (OUCH)! Things are good now that we are home and adjusting. Crue is doing well (better than I thought), and Brian has been amazing help and support. Along with my mom... don't know what I would do without them! Life with 2 kids is definitely different, but I am so glad she is here. Welcome to our family Cami! We love you so much!

Brian and Crue's Snowman! So cute. Brian has had a lot of time with Crue and has been helping me a ton. Frosty is SO cute and Crue loves to go and see him!

♥ LOVE ♥

This little boy melts my heart. Last night I was telling him goodnight and tucking him in, and I said, "I love you"... and he said right back, " Ub you mama". That was worth more than anything in the world!

Crazy Month!

The month of Oct. has been so CRAZY! I guess that being said, I am glad because one more month of my pregnancy down! We had so much fun this month celebrating Crue's birthday and doing all the other fun things you do in Oct. (We also went to Boo at the Zoo with Brad, Laurel and the Bug, but I forgot my camera... so check out Laurel's blog for pics).

Here are some pictures of the pumpkin patch.. This year the pumpkins were crappy but Crue had a lot of fun and always wanted to be wherever his dad was!
Now for the pumpkins after we bought them... Yes the pumpkins are hand painted --- not decals. Brian and I have been painting pumpkins for the past 6 years and we love it. He is the artist, so I just help block everything in and he makes them look all fancy with lots of details. Here are a few that we did this year. Nothing scary anymore --- they are all for Crue! He also sculpted one (a new attempt) that I think turned out really good.
Then came Halloween... Crue was the cutest cowboy EVER. Brian even dressed up with him. I made him some chaps and we borrowed some boots (thanks Hailey), and got him a hat and the rest was easy... He LOVES hats so this was a great costume for him, and he loved galloping around, especially for the candy! He wouldn't wear his guns that we got him---stubborn kid, but he wore everything else! What a fun Halloween... I loved that he could understand more this year. Especially going trick-or-treating with his older cousins. He had no problem keeping up. It
was really cute.

Okay -- this one is for everyone that has been asking me for pics of my belly... This was on Halloween at 31 weeks... 8 weeks to go since my doc will take me a week early! Time should fly by now with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. I will be a mom of TWO sooner than I am ready for. But we are so excited for this little girl to come into our family. We can't wait!

Crue is 2!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRUE!

I can't believe my baby is 2! We celebrated early and had a little party with family on Sun.... It was cute and Crue had so much fun! I love this boy so much my heart hurts sometimes. Here are some pictures of the cake and cupcakes, and some of him with his presents.

Motorcycles are Crue's favorite! Go figure. He opened this one first and couldn't put it down for the rest of the night. Thanks for all the gifts everyone. It's been like Christmas at our house. He loves them all!

Happy Birthday Bud! We love you so much!

IT'S A.....

baby GIRL!!!!

I had my official ultrasound today and we found out for sure that we are having a little girl. My doctor did an ultrasound at 16 weeks and was pretty sure that was what we were having, but he was wrong with Crue, so I was hesitant to take his word for sure until we had the ultrasound tech check it out... I know that Brian was secretly hoping that the doc was wrong again and the tech would tell us we were having another boy, but no such luck this time. It's a girl and I couldn't be happier! It's so nice to know that we will have one of each because now the pressure is off. We feel truly blessed that we are able to have kids and can't wait to meet the little one. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound. I know you can't really tell what they are, but here are some of her first pics!

Where to Start??

I have been a horrible blogger this summer so I decided it's time to get up to speed and post what we have been up to. It's been a crazy summer that has come and gone too fast! We found out in May that we are expecting our 2nd baby!! Most of you know that I am pregnant, but for those of you who don't, we are having another baby.... my due date is Jan 6th, but my wonderful doctor assured me that he would take me before the end of the year, so we are hoping for a late Dec. baby!
We have gone to Fish Lake twice and Bear Lake twice this summer, both places we love for two very different reasons. I am a fishergirl at heart, and Fish Lake has a big piece of my soul. My family has spent many many summer's their even since my dad was a little boy. And Bear Lake is Brian's family tradition and they have been going their as long as they can remember. So, we have the best of both worlds (for me at least--- Brian is learning to like fishing) and we get to fish and ski/wakeboard on two of the most beautiful lakes in Utah. Other than that we have been up to the other usual summer things. Hanging out at my mom's pool, Lagoon and Family Reunion's. Crue definitely makes things more fun and interesting. I love the age he is at and all the fun things he is doing and exploring. I love being a mom especially to such a cute little guy! I hope to keep you all updated better now that life seems to be slowing down for a little while :)
